Bandhan Bank, GRSC among 16 stocks to trade ex-dividend on Tuesday. Last date to buy today

Bandhan Bank, The Great Eastern Shipping Company (GRSC) and Navneet Education along with 5 other companies, are expected to be in the spotlight today as they had finalized August 13 as the record date to determine the shareholders eligible for dividend payments.

This means today is the last day to purchase shares of these companies to qualify for the announced dividends.

Dividends are paid to shareholders who are listed in the company’s records on the record date. Shareholders who buy the stock at least one day before the ex-date qualify for dividends, as the transaction settles the following day. However, those who purchase the stock on the ex-date are not eligible for dividends.

With the implementation of the T+1 framework, the record date and ex-date generally coincide, unless a market holiday falls after the ex-date.
